The External Chatbot – Telegram Integration extension allows you to connect your MagicAI chatbot to Telegram, enabling users to chat with your AI directly in the app. It also supports the Human Agent feature, so you can manage live chats from the MagicAI dashboard when users request human support.
How to Set Up Telegram Integration
Step 1: Create a Telegram Bot
- Open the Telegram app on your phone or PC.
- Search for “BotFather” – this is Telegram’s official bot management tool.
- Open the BotFather chat and send the command:
- Follow the prompts to name your bot and create a username.
- BotFather will send you an access token — copy this token.
Step 2: Configure Your Bot in MagicAI
- Log in to your MagicAI dashboard.
- Go to AI Bots and edit the chatbot you want to connect to Telegram.
- Navigate to the Channel step.
- Select Telegram, and enter your Bot Name and the Access Token you got from BotFather.
- Click Save — and that’s it!
Live Chat with Human Agent
- If you’ve enabled Human Agent, users chatting through Telegram can request human support.
- You’ll receive and manage these messages through the Human Agent panel in your MagicAI dashboard.
