The Video Editor is a timeline-based video editing tool built directly into the dashboard. Users create and edit video projects without leaving the platform. It is accessible from the side menu under Video Editor.
Requirements
- Prerequisite: Video Editor must be installed and active on your workspace.
- Installation: Install Video Editor from the Marketplace.
- Plan Access: Enable or disable Video Editor per pricing tier via Finance → Pricing Plans.
- Optional Extensions: Three optional extensions unlock additional AI-powered panels inside the editor — see AI-Powered Features below.
Server Requirements
- FFmpeg package.
- Increase PHP request timeout to 6000 or more.
Activation
To make Video Editor available to users:
- Step 1 — Install: Go to Marketplace and install Video Editor.
- Step 2 — Enable on Plans: Go to Finance → Pricing Plans, select each plan that should include Video Editor, and enable it. No external API key is required for the core editor.
- Step 3 — Install Optional AI Extensions (if needed): To unlock the AI, Voice, and Music panels inside the editor, install the corresponding extensions from the Marketplace and configure their API keys (see AI-Powered Features below).
Getting Started
Navigate to Video Editor from the side menu. The page displays all existing projects with their aspect ratio, name, and creation date. Click New Project to create a new editing session.
Creating a New Project
When starting a new project, set the Aspect Ratio to match the target platform:
- 1:1 — Square format (Instagram feed)
- 16:9 — Landscape format (YouTube, presentations)
- 9:16 — Portrait format (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
Give the project a name, then open the timeline editor.
Editing
The Video Editor uses a timeline-based interface where users can:
Add, trim, and arrange video clips on the timeline
Layer multiple tracks for video, audio, and other elements
Preview the edit in real time
Name and save projects for continued editing later
AI-Powered Features
The Video Editor includes an optional side panel with three AI-powered tabs. Each tab becomes available only when the corresponding extension is installed and active on the workspace:
AI Tab
The AI tab appears when AI Video Pro is installed. It allows users to generate new video clips using AI directly within the editor — without switching tools. Generated clips are placed directly on the timeline.
- Requires: AI Video Pro installed from the Marketplace
- API Key: Configure AI Video Pro provider keys at Settings → AI Video Pro Settings.
Voice Tab
The Voice tab appears when AI Voiceover is enabled. It allows users to generate voiceovers and add them as audio tracks directly on the timeline, without leaving the editor.
- Requires: AI Voiceover enabled on the workspace
- API Key: Configure voiceover providers (ElevenLabs, OpenAI, GCS) at Settings → AI Voiceover Settings.
Music Tab
The Music tab appears when AI Music or AI Music Pro is installed. It allows users to generate background music tracks and add them directly to the timeline within the editor.
- Requires: AI Music or AI Music Pro installed from the Marketplace
- API Key: Configure the music generation provider at Settings → AI Music Pro Settings.
Project Management
All created projects are listed on the Video Editor home screen with their aspect ratio label, project name, and creation date. Projects are saved automatically and can be returned to at any time.
Admin Controls
Video Editor has no dedicated settings page. Access is managed entirely via Finance → Pricing Plans. Enable or disable the feature per pricing tier.
To enable the AI-powered panels inside the editor, install and configure the relevant extensions:
- AI panel: Install AI Video Pro from the Marketplace and configure its API keys.
- Voice panel: Enable AI Voiceover and configure provider API keys at Settings → AI Voiceover Settings.
- Music panel: Install AI Music or AI Music Pro from the Marketplace and configure its API keys.
⚠️ Note: Each AI panel inside the editor is independent. Installing one does not activate the others. All three can be active simultaneously.
